AIR AND GAS DRILLING FIELD GUIDE

Have a look in the new edition of the book describing the fundamental simulation models developed for the deep-well drilling utilizing the gas/air drilling fluids, including the two-phase drilling fluids plus the stable foam-based drilling fluids. Approximately one third of the wells are drilled using the air/gas drilling fluids, according to the information obtained from the US Dept of Energy Estimates.

The models that are included into this volume shall be used as the basis for the development of the systematic methods of planning the underbalanced drilling operations on the different deep wells and also for conducting the correct monitoring of the subject operations and the relevant construction projects. The document contains a good discussion of the main applications of these drilling fluids including the applications to the geo-technical industry. The discussion also touches the critically important well construction/completion matters.

The original objective was to provide the industry participants with the correct and useful technical info directly relating to the cost management control in the field of drilling and also well construction. This document contains numerous fundamental simulation equations supplemented with the examples for various drilling models and other relevant data...

HANDBOOK OF OFFSHORE ENGINEERING (2—VOLUME SET)

Each part of this excellent offshore engineering textbook was specifically prepared by the prominent and world-renowned industry experts. All technical information and data selected for inclusion into the book have been presented in the forms of the reference data tables and design charts.

The author, Subrata Chakrabarti, has also included numerous live examples showing how exactly the theoretical fundamentals outlined in the pages of this two-volume set should be directly applied in the technical design of the different offshore structures. In the last couple of decades many efforts were made in the fields of offshore exploration and mineral production.

The present document is mainly aimed to fill in the existing information gap and accommodate the need for the reference source in the offshore engineering. The main content of the volume covers all fundamental background materials plus their practical applications. The author has particularly emphasized the practical application of the theory and covered different aspects of the structures and clear descriptions.

The main objective of the volume was to provide the industry with the key aspects of the offshore engineering without going deep into the specific design issues. Absolutely recommended to all participants of the offshore industry due to the information/data included by the author.

OFFSHORE OPERATION FACILITIES — EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURES

The publication was released to provide the offshore industry engineers with the required information and knowledge as well as the established effective methods that would assist them to reach the maximum efficiency while maintaining minimum costs; it will be helpful when used during the preparation for the different operational variables that are commonly involved offshore.

The content of the publication is very clearly presenting the knowledge of the subsea offshore operations; the author demonstrates how the offshore operations could be optimized. While the first part of the volume is covering the basic principles that govern the structural design of the offshore installations, drilling operations, equipment used and procedures to be followed, its second half addresses the commonly faced challenges of the deep/shallow water engineering, cable engineering, subsea engineering and safety systems.

There are many live examples included in the book from the various locations but mainly focusing on the offshore operations offshore China. The book will be useful for the offshore workers willing to maintain the facilities reliably and efficiently to reach maximum profitability.

MECHANICS OF OFFSHORE PIPELINES — BUCKLING AND COLLAPSE

The present volume is dealing with the mechanics of offshore structures, particularly with their buckling and collapse problems. As per the numerous reviews, this is one of the best available materials for the working engineers owing to its very well researched content that covers all required topics in detail.

The book provides engineers with a perfect coverage of this quite complex subject. The author has applied a problem-oriented approach when preparing his book, addressing both classical and newly introduced problems and investigating them through a combination of theoretical analysis and experimental data. Each of the chapters is dealing with a specific problem and the author is analyzing each of the problems independently.

Taking into account the fundamental nature of the problems covered in the volume, they can also apply to the fields other than offshore exploration, for instance the tubes and components in the power plants, various on-shore engineering structures, naval vehicles, maritime structures and many others. The volume will be useful to the offshore designers and engineers engaged in the provision and maintenance of the safe and effective offshore piping arrangements.

TUBULAR STRING CHARACTERIZATION IN HIGH TEMPERATURE HIGH PRESSURE OIL AND GAS WELLS

When we talk about the applied fundamental theory for the deep well testing research, the mechanical analysis of the tubular string is normally a very complex task, taking into account that the tubing pressure and fluid temperature have a large effect on the tubular string force.

During the well testing, the methods that are commonly utilized to determine the pressure/temperature of the string would include measurements from thermometers and pressure gauges that are located in the tubing, pressure/temperature measurements at only the well bottom and well head. With these measurements, personnel will be enabled to duly predict the complete distribution using theory analysis technology. Predicting accurate temperature and pressure profiles in flowing wells can greatly enhance hydrocarbon production.

However, for gas wells with HTHP, standing for the "High Temperature High Pressure" is in most cases difficult to operate thermometers and pressure gauges within the tubing itself, thus theory analysis shall be used serving as a feasible and effective method. An excellent volume to be appreciated by all people engaged in oil exploration/production, including those working offshore.
