This is the latest sixth edition of the book on the shipping law, in which the team of professionals continues their effort in providing the people engaged in the international maritime shipping industry, particularly those having to get involved in the disputes, with a thorough overview of the main matters that are relevant to different jurisdictions. The material of the book covers the maritime law applied in the most “marine” countries and flag state authorities.

The volume starts with the several cross-jurisdictional parts addressing the recent developments in the field including but not limited to the shipbuilding and repair, shipping terminals and ports, newly imposed sanctions, competition, and many others, up to the marine insurance and offshore industry. However, the authors have prepared an entirely new chapter devoted to the decommissioning, demystifying this rapidly growing law part.

Each of the jurisdictional chapters that the authors included in the book provides readers with information about the established procedures related to the shipping disputes and how they should be handle, including different mechanisms of their resolution, litigation and arbitration. The major provisions of the maritime law have been summarized as applied to the shipbuilding contracts.
