CCS RULES FOR CLASSIFICATION OF MOBILE OFFSHORE UNITS

Here is a complete set of the rules for classification of mobile offshore units released by China Register, the last edition. The main content of the rules is arranged in eight separate parts all included in the set. Traditionally, the first part provides general provision of classification while the second part is covering structure of the mobile offshore units and equipment normally installed on the them.

The third part is dealing with the stability, subdivision of the unit and their load line arrangements. The fourth and fifth parts cover the machinery installations, systems and electrical installations. The sixth part is devoted to the automated systems while the seventh contains requirements to the fire and explosion safety. The closing part of the rule set has been devoted to the multi-purpose mobile offshore units and also to the special systems and installations. Note that this set of rules also includes the latest rule change notices.

The rules will be of great practical use not only to the CCS inspectors but also to any person involved in design and construction of the mobile offshore units as well as to those working on such units and willing to keep the condition of the hull, equipment, systems and all arrangements on board in compliance with the applicable classification requirements.
