These Rules were developed and officially released by the China Register to be used for providing effective service for the certification of the ship security system. The content will be applicable to the security systems of passenger ships including HSPC, i.e. high-speed passenger crafts, cargo ships including HSC with the gross tonnage not less than five hundred tons, and MODU, standing for the mobile offshore drilling units.
The material contained in the rulebook has been arranged in four chapters. The first chapter is introductory which is quite standard for class publications. The second chapter is devoted to the certification process and documentation involved. The third chapter is dealing with the approval of SSP, i.e. ship security plan, covering general requirements and review of documents involved as well as approval for the SSP amendments.
The closing chapter addresses the SSP audit including general information, initial, periodical, additional and interim verification. Three appendices at the end of the book provide minimum requirements to the ISPS certification scenarios, and forms of the ISSC and Interim ISSC. A needful volume for the people engaged in associated activities.
