VRYHOF MANUAL — THE GUIDE TO ANCHORING

This is the Guide to Anchoring officially distributed by one of the world leaders in manufacturing of the ship and offshore anchors, the famous and respected Vryhof company. The volume starts with the intro giving general information about the history and development of the anchor, covering mooring systems and their components such as mooring line, swivels, connectors, and anchoring point - particular attention was paid to the characteristics of different types of anchors.

The second chapter is theoretical, it covers the criteria applied to the holding capacity of the anchor and anchor design, soil mechanics aspects to be taken into account during the anchor design, anchor strength, quality assurance and certification of the anchors, together with the associated testing.
