You know, when the diesel engines are running, they can really get hot. That is why, to keep them running, we need to remove the heat somehow.
Otherwise, the temperature will continue to rise and the engine will eventually get overheated - this results in the high temperature alarm/shutdown or, which is the worst case, in the damage occurring to the engine. That is where the engine radiator comes in.
As the engine is running, the cooling liquid which is stored in the radiator, is continuously circulating through the engine, picking up heat and then returns to the radiator. In short, this is what the radiator is there for - it forms an integral part of the cooling system...
