Here is a nice and useful book with pretty self-explanatory and very promising title. For sure, we are all well aware of the fact that the ASME Code Sec. VIII provides technical rules that are pertaining to the design of the pressure vessels and associated components, selection of the construction materials, fabrication of the pressure vessels and components, their periodical inspection and testing.
These rules are in most cases quite complicated to understand and implement. This publication offered to you has been specifically prepared with the intention to demonstrate how exactly the design rules outlines in the Code should be applied to various pressure vessel components. Note that it does not cover any of the other rules, only design has been dealt with in this volume. In fact, the publication is mainly intended to serve as a reference tool for the specialists involved in the design of pressure vessels ads well as heat exchangers.
The authors of the volume have tried to keep the theoretical background of the equations to a minimum - it is implied that such background could be easily obtained from any other reference book. The main emphasis has been made by the authors on solved problems as well as selected practical examples illustrating the correct application of the equations that are contained in the ASME Code Sec. VIII. Needless to say, this volume is a truly must-have one.
