The FlexCam Technology developed by the MAK specialists and explained in this training video has allowed the marine engineering industry to achieve the real synergy between two systems, namely the advanced air systems and flexible fuel systems commonly providing maximum utilization of the current marine diesel engine design; it also allows to reduce the emission of the smoke polluting the atmosphere and also to improve both load pickup and acceleration.
One of the applications of the subject newly introduced technology is the cruise vessels, where these engines do guarantee virtually invisible smoke coming from them when operated at any loads; in the meantime, the NOx emissions are maintained strictly within the limits set by the relevant current regulations. A really interesting technology which every marine engineer would better be aware of.
