This film is about an important and vital aspect of our jobs - it will show the trainees how to deal with the shipboard wastes without breaking the rules and regulations, particularly ones contained in the MARPOL Convention. The present video training film is dealing with the sludge waste and use of the shipboard incinerator, and is supplemented with this training booklet released by the same maritime training provider. They both form a part of the four-section set addressing the problem of the shipboard waste management, three other parts of which are devoted to the oil record book, oily water and separator, and sewage and waste water management.

We highly recommend all our users and all crew members of all vessels regardless of their size and type to have a close look into the content of each part of this training package since it is critically important to be fully aware of the correct procedures of the waste management enabling crew members to manage the wastes in a manner compliant with the internationally recognized standards; failure to do so will eventually result in very serious consequences...
