There are about thirty research institutes in Europe that have all been devoted to the maritime law. In addition to that, much of the quality research in Europe is conducted by other institutions. The content of the present volume is dedicated to the competition and regulation in the maritime shipping industry as well as in the other industries and has been arranged by the author in four major parts.
The first part of the book provides general information about the competition in the shipping industry. The second part addresses the competition in the port sectors plus several specific markets, while the third part is dealing with the major distorting factors. Finally, the closing part of the document is named freedom of contract vs. regulation. A very informative publication with the content expected to be greatly appreciated by the maritime industry.
