The present publication is in fact a nice collection of selected technical papers that reflect the teaching materials intended for use during the MNA (Master of Naval Architecture) course that was, in turn, developed in the European ASDEPP project. This abbreviation stands for the advanced ship design for the prevention of pollution.
Among the topics covered within this publication are the structural reliability and strength of the vessel, collision and grounding of the vessel treated as the criteria in design of the various structures of the vessel, modeling of the various environmental loads, application of the probabilistic approach to the damage stability of the vessel, and others.
